France is one of
the most advanced and modernized countries in the world. Very often it
surprises the mankind with new unique and radical inventions and discoveries.
Traditional value has become a bit sidelined though not obsolete. But the past
always make feel its presence. France is full of many dilapidated old and
unused mansions and castles where the past still reverberates in those broken
and fragile walls. You just need to give your year to them with full attention and
concentration.
The Chateau de
Lagarde is a ruined mansion still standing strong since 11th century
and has a bagful history to offer us. Then there is the Fortified Cite of
Carcassonne in the city of Carcassonne. A decree was declared way back in 1850
to demolish the building but later an architect saved it from nonexistence and
The Administration of the Art undertook the responsibility of its restoration.
The list is
endless. Visiting those places gift you an uncanny feeling that you can never
explain and forget. Those dark alleyways are carrying the footprints of those
men and women whose no signs remain. But their unheard voice can surely be
sensed if you are sensible enough. The brooding of a king who had lost all is
only witnessed by these kinds of gothic citadels where the gate is still
guarded by its faithful spirits.
